  Lee County Schools Cadet Squadron, is a part of the Civil Air Patrol, Middle Schools Initiative. Civil Air Patrol is the United States Air Force Auxiliary.  Civil Air Patrol is tasked by the Air Force to conduct search and rescue arm within the United States. The unit was reorganized as a schools cadet squadron on or about 15 April 2004.  For the ten years prior the unit was known as Dolphin Flight, Lee County Cadet Squadron.

     The Civil Air Patrol provides the opportunity for students that have either completed the 5th grade and obtained age 12 to participate in the adventure. Students that are in the program are referred to as cadets.

2010-2011 Goals

We begin 2009 with 26 cadets and 4 seniors. - Complete School year with 35 cadets and 7 seniors.

  1. Continue to apply for grants and donations.
  2. Improve posting of cadet records and accomplishments.
  3. Encourage voluntary participation by parents in the program as members, Aerospace members or parent volunteers.
  4. Continue to maintain and improve the squadrons web site:  www.webmastersswfl.com/0816
  5. Have two cadets attend ES training
  6. Have one senior member commit to support of the aerospace education program.
  7. Establish a Aerospace Continuity book.
  8. Develop the contingent of cadets at Gateway Middle School into a flight of Lee County Schools Cadet Squadron.
  9. Develop budget for the 2005 year.
  10. Recruit 20 additional cadets.
  11. Recruit 3 additional senior members
  12. Process 3 applications for winter encampment
  13. Process 5 applications for summer encampment.
  14. Establish a trained urban search team and start to develop a second team.
  15. Have 6 news releases published in local newspapers
  16. Submit 6 articles to the Wing Newspaper
  17. Plan and execute 9 special activities:
