I do have Geraldine's address correct. Thanks for the update. I plan to mail everyone a first class mailing on the 50th GHS reunion in early December. I have tried to keep a mailing list updated so hopefully I will not get any returned.
I touched base with Shelia Holland and Elaine Curry several months ago and both are fine. Shelia is anxious to hear about everyone but does not plan on attending the reunion. Elaine is doing well out in California and has said she plans to attend. She has a business leading women's groups on wellness. I'm personally trying to get Mr. Tom Holloway to attend. I have kept up with he and his wife Ethel over the years. Gary Blair has just recently moved back to the United States from a gated community in Old Mexico. My son's have updated me with their Dad's address in California and I'm hoping he and his wife will plan to attend because I'm planning on having both sons return to Kansas with me next summer. The boys can have a reunion of sorts with their Father while I'm busy with the reunion and Nick's 5th Reunion. Life is interesting!!!!
Elaine, I hope maybe a group of Girardians can maybe finalize the reservations with the Friday and Saturday night gatherings. Connie has agreed to take names of classmates who are interested in further information from the first class mailing in December. Jim Spieth still has the website going and has done a great job of updating it when someone contacts him. http://www.webmastersswfl.com/class62/
I have plans to be at Snow Mountain Ranch YMCA Camp in Colorado from early May until September 2012 taking at least 5 days for the reunion in June and have reservations at one of the Farlington Lake cabins. Jim Spieth has also rented the larger lake cabin and he and his wife are planning some family reunions during that time.
Roger, Sharon Herlocker, Robert Hill and myself attended the June 2011 initial planning committee so maybe you might check with Connie and Roger sometime in early May for sure to finalize whatever needs to be done. Jo Burke Farabi also came to the Nick's 2011 reunion and generously offered her home for a Sunday morning gathering during the 2012 50th Reunion.
Thanks for your kind offer with the reunion. The reunion is always a time I miss all our classmates who have passed .... (Mattie, Judy, Bernadine, Bob Vietti, Randy, Pat Gillette, Bob Lallamand, John Childers were ones who attended reunions and had such a great time and left us memories.) How ironic is that when a lot of people that's still here don't even want to connect with old classmates.
Happy Holidays to you and your family.
I am planning on having a Thanksgiving Breakfast as both the Blair sons will be home in Oklahoma for the first time in over 25 years.

GHS Classmates - Class of 1962

Anyone who has been following the facebook account
"What you Remember About Girard" probably saw this entry this week and now it is up to each individual in our Class to get in touch with this Alumni Group if you are interested in doing so.
I have considered our class address and email list very special as when it was orginally handed to us it had been very poorly kept so through lots of returned mail and help from everyone we have a Class of 1962 first class mailing and email list we can be proud of.  Jim Spieth and I have never given any of this information out and do not intend to do it at this time.  We have a website that is the best that anyone could ask for thanks to our webmaster Jim.
I will use this email also to tell everyone in our class that our first planning committee for our GHS Class of 1962 50th Reunion will meet Father's Day weekend on Saturday June 18, 2011 at 3:30 P.M. in Girard.  I will send one more reminder in May 2011 so all of you that plan to be in Girard that weekend come join in with your ideas and suggestions for the best 50th Reunion that Girard has ever experienced!!!!!  Pass this information on to Classmates who are not on this email list and mark your calendars so everyone can have a voice in what happens on The GHS Class of 1962 50th Reunion in 2012.
Wishing you all health and happiness.

Good morning to everyone,
Just to keep you all in the loop.......Betty Dunlap called yesterday.  She is recuperating fine from her back surgery and is looking forward to the reunion.
Betty has agreed to be hostess of the Saturday morning Ladies Brunch to be held at Brick Town Steakhouse in Pittsburg.  She had asked Kay Fletcher to host also and the two girls have a neat plan for the gathering.
Reservations have been made for all the events and a more exact count will be needed in early May.  Check out the class website that Jim has updated with the reunion schedule:
http://www.geocities.com/d47f/class62/
Jim also has the class bios that were in the 2002 reunion book that he is going to post to the website and everyone is encouraged to send a 5 year update to be added to your bio. Jim had posted mine and his......boy I haven't accomplished much!!!!!!!!
Everyone needs to pick a person on the class list and encourage them to attend.  (People we haven't seen in awhile.) I have been in contact with Bob Burns and Tom Holloway.  Tom is a possibility but has had some health problems within the last few months so he is at least "thinking about it."
If anyone has ideas for the reunion the plans are very flexible.  Only about 4 months left for this social event of the year!  Our goal is to have fun and make some lasting memories!
Everyone take care.
