Youth Leadership Program
A program designed to develop speaking and leadership skills of students at Gulf Middle School will be conducted on the first or second Monday of each month. The speak-off banquette will be held on June 7, 2010. The training sessions will take place from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Room C-1 (Laptop Computer Lab) at Gulf Middle School.
This program is a workshop. It is designed to be conducted in nine sessions. Participants learn how: to prepare and present a speech, conduct meetings, evaluate, and develop effective listening skills. By the end of the 8th session students will develop self-confidence and interpersonal communications skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.
At the conclusion of the program a contest a (speak-off) will be held.
All students of middle school age are eligible to participate. Students that wish to participate in school organizations, as offices should strongly consider taking part. Attendance will be limited to the first thirty students who apply.
